The Uruk-Hai are a fictional race of Orcs appearing in Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, based on J.R.R. Tolkien's novels set in Middle Earth. These are not directly portrayed in the television series, but are a key part of the stories the films portray.
Bred by Saruman in the pits of Isengard, and by Sauron in Mordor. Uruk-Hai are a stronger, more disciplined, and less susceptible to sunlight than regular Orcs. Their first appearance is in The Fellowship of the Ring, where they serve as a major combat force. They stand tall and sport dark skin and broad faces, bred with a goal in mind, total war and domination over all of Middle-Earth.
The Uruk-Hai are distinguished by the "White Hand" insignia of Saruman, emblazoned on their shields. They are fierce warriors, known for their brutal efficiency and unwavering loyalty to Saruman.
